Study Aids and Testing Aids23 May 2011 10:51 am

This morning, my friend Usha told me about Study Island. The site’s offerings emphasize study for standardized tests, mostly state MAP tests, and GED tests, and Study Island has a wide range of products for a student’s particular needs.

Go to the site, and select your state. You’ll see a list of offerings for that state’s MAP exams for each grade, as well as End of Course (EOC), and End of Grade (EOG), and GED preparation tools.

This could be a great resource for both school children, and for homeschoolers looking for a simple, reasonably priced option for seeing how they’re is doing on the topics and courses for the children’s current grade level. It could also serve as a refresher, or a supplement to a curriculum.

Have you used StudyIsland.com for your school student or homeschooler? What did you think of it? Are you considering using it? Please leave your comments below, and let us know what you think of StudyIsland.com.

Children, money, finances, and budgetingOne of the greatest hurdles in modern life is how to properly handle money. Some people call money “foldable time”. If our children can learn early how to handle the challenges, and temptations, they’ll face, we can save them a lot of worry when they grow up prepared.

One of my favorite resources on the web, Lifehacker, has a great article from a couple weeks ago about teaching your kids about money.

The article makes some great points, and encourages, “The PAYjr Education Center proposes that you start teaching your child about money as soon as they’re young enough to count.” And one of my favorite pieces of advice, “Don’t shy away from family discussions about money, and teach by example.” I’m gonna work on that. Ahem.

Make sure to check out the whole article at Lifehacker.

Curriculum and Homeschool26 Jan 2008 02:11 am

Welcome! We’re proud to present out effort to bring together a broad range of educational resources for children, parents, teachers, and learners and educators of all kinds.

As homeschooling parents, we’ve enjoyed finding various resources for our daughter. We’ve always found, however, that it’s difficult to find everything we need quickly. With Punkie Bunnies School Tools, we hope to provide a place for all of us to share and learn together, and build a place that we can use to find what we need to help learn and educate our children.

By the way, Punkie Bunnies is a creation of our daughter, Cohen.

All our best in your educational endeavors!
