One of the greatest hurdles in modern life is how to properly handle money. Some people call money “foldable time”. If our children can learn early how to handle the challenges, and temptations, they’ll face, we can save them a lot of worry when they grow up prepared.
One of my favorite resources on the web, Lifehacker, has a great article from a couple weeks ago about teaching your kids about money.
The article makes some great points, and encourages, “The PAYjr Education Center proposes that you start teaching your child about money as soon as they’re young enough to count.” And one of my favorite pieces of advice, “Don’t shy away from family discussions about money, and teach by example.” I’m gonna work on that. Ahem.
